Castmagic

Category: AI Voice/Audio

Turn one recording into a month of social, email and show notes.

Castmagic takes an audio or video file and returns the written assets you would otherwise spend a day pulling out of it: a clean transcript, show notes, chapter timestamps, titles, a summary, quote cards, LinkedIn and X posts, a newsletter section, and clipped highlights. It is built around podcasts but works on any recording, which in practice means webinars, customer interviews, sales calls and internal workshops. You can define your own prompts so the outputs come back in your voice rather than a generic house style, and save them as reusable templates for every episode. Uploads come from a file, a URL, an RSS feed or an integration, and outputs push out to the places you work. Speaker detection and multi-language transcription are included.

Our verdict

Strongest in the repurposing category because the custom prompt library is genuinely useful rather than decorative. Generic AI summaries all read the same; Castmagic lets you pin down your own structure and tone once and apply it to every recording after, which is the difference between output you can publish and output you have to rewrite. The quote extraction and clip finding are reliable enough to trust. The limit is the input: it can only find what is in the recording, so a rambling episode produces rambling assets. Pricing is minute-based and the published tiers have moved around, so check the current page and work out your monthly recording hours first. If you publish weekly and repurpose across three or four channels, it pays for itself quickly.

Best for: Teams sitting on recorded content, podcasts, webinars or customer interviews, who want the written derivatives without a content person transcribing and rewriting by hand.

Pros

  • Custom prompt templates mean outputs come back in your voice, not a generic AI house style
  • One upload produces transcript, show notes, social posts, newsletter copy and clips together
  • Works on any recording, so webinars, customer interviews and workshops count, not just podcasts
  • Speaker detection and multi-language transcription included
  • RSS and integration inputs, so new episodes can flow in automatically
  • Saves a genuine day of work per episode once your templates are set

Cons

  • Minute-based plans, so work out your monthly recording hours before choosing a tier
  • Published pricing has changed more than once, confirm the current page
  • Output quality tracks input quality, a loose recording gives loose assets
  • Still needs an editorial pass before publishing, it is a first draft engine
