Swifly

Category: AI Voice/Audio

Voice dictation that writes in the right tone for whichever app you are in.

Swifly is an AI dictation app for Mac, Windows and iPhone, with Android announced. Hold a shortcut, speak, and polished text lands wherever your cursor is. The feature that separates it from most dictation tools is tone awareness, so the same sentence comes out formal in Gmail and casual in Slack without rewriting. It also handles over 100 languages, will dictate in one language and type in another, and builds a personal dictionary of client names, product names and jargon so they stop coming out mangled. A snippet library turns stock replies into voice shortcuts. Magic Polish and Rewrite clean up text you have already typed. Built by a French team, with SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 both claimed, plus a Privacy Mode that stops transcripts being stored.

Our verdict

A capable dictation app whose tone-matching and translation features go further than most rivals. Worth a look if you draft across email, Slack and docs all day and keep rewriting dictated text to suit the channel. The free tier is generous enough to judge it properly.

Best for: Marketers who draft across several channels daily and want dictated text that already fits the tone of each one.

Pros

  • Tone adapts to the app you are writing in, so dictated text needs less rewriting
  • Dictate in one language and have it typed in another, with 100+ languages supported
  • Personal dictionary learns client names, product names and jargon
  • Snippet library turns repeated replies into voice shortcuts
  • Mac, Windows and iPhone, with a genuinely usable free tier at 20,000 words a month

Cons

  • Cloud only, so it needs a connection and your audio goes to their servers. Privacy Mode stops transcripts being stored but cuts the free allowance from 20,000 words a month to 2,000.
